In my opinion, most people are better suited getting used to a more rigid seat than a gel covering. Gel can put pressure on nerves or other wrong spots.

If your butt still hurts after a couple months of fairly consistent riding, I suggest first going to a bike shop to have them help determine if it's a fit issue or a sale issue.

I have this. Make sure you account for the extra padding by dropping your seat height slightly for optimal comfort.

I do find that the seat sometimes shifts left or right while riding which is annoying, but it does not outweigh the benefits.

I rode 60 miles yesterday and it's a huge improvement to no cover.

I did 30 miles on a standard seat with no padded shorts and I can still feel the soreness 5 days later. Perfect post at the right time.

Agreed, if your seat hurts you on-going...one of you have issues, and needs to be looked at.

Honest question.

How is this different from bike shorts with the padding built-in?

I find I prefer the gel pad to the shorts. Am I missing something?

Mountain bike seats are so uncomfortable. I tried one of these and it ripped the front stitching on the second or third ride.

Bout to modify a cruiser seat so I can finally sit on some cushion. Seriously though the fact those shorts and these cushions even exist should tell the bike companies to offer a extra padded seat.

Seems dead. Cannot add to cart and one-click purchase says item no longer available.
