I don't know how to find out the brand of the TV, but the price sounds good for a 65" 4k tv. Does anyone know the model number?

Not trying to be a TV snob here, and I am not a videophile by any means but unless you are just looking for something big for cheap, this might be a horrible deal. I dunno. I've never dealt with Fry's.

Too many factors for a quality TV to spend $500 on a surprise box.

I totally agree with you. It could end up being a bad deal. I'm just hoping someone knows what model this is. I called Fry's and they won't tell me over the phone. They said I had to come into the store to find out. They did tell me it is either a Sony, LG, or Samsung.

Well it being one of those three would peak my interest if I had a Fry's anywhere close.

If it is indeed one of those brands, I would be interested. I plan to go check it out, but I can't check it out until after work. Im hoping someone can crack the code and post it here.

Just looking at these brands on frys.com I found these tvs that seem to match the original price point as close as possible:

Samsung UN65NU6900 - $827.99

LG 65SM8100AUA - $896.99

Everytime I've called Frys about these deals, they told me it was a Samsung, I think the NU7xxx or NU6xxx. Definitely not the RU series or anything decent. It was basically the worst quality Samsung PQ based off RTings reviews.

Definitely not a Sony.

Did you ask them why they bothered to pick up the phone if they force you to come inside to get any info?

so if its the NU6xxx or the NU7xxx you would not recommend? Do happen to have a good recommendation for sub $1000 65" tv with good frame rates for motion?

This seems like the best deal for a quality 65 inch for $650, dont think anything under $1k better than it:

How do you know? When you say "definitely" it makes it sound like you know what you're talking about.

2 key phrases from your post.
1). ...might be...
2). ...I dunno...

I'd suggest only making comments that you have first hand knowledge of.

Just keeping it to the facts keeps this comment board less confusing.

Probably the most basic Samsung or LG 4K TV
Doubtful that it is a Sony

Your reply has no merit on "keeping it to the facts" on what is literally an ambiguous model TV deal. The only fact is that it's at Fry's, 65" and just under $500.

Before trying to correct a grown-up, maybe look at all things said and interpret the overall context of said post.
