ProElectronics Distributing via Rakuten has Sony WH-1000XM3 Bluetooth Noise Canceling Headphones (Silver & Black) on sale for $262.95 - $39.44 w/ promo code PRO39= $223. Shipping is free.

Note: There is some controversy on whether or not these come with a Sony warranty. In all of my three conversations with Sony reps they have all said that if the product if sold as new (even from an unauthorized dealer) and has not been previously registered in their system that the warranty will be active. I have not gone through a warranty claims process to fully confirm this, but I went ahead and purchased based on the information I received

Not really a controversy when there are literally hundreds of threads out there claiming sony will NOT honor warranty if it's purchased from a non authorized retailer.

Not sure about sellers reputation? Some really iffy reviews there (selling openbox as new for example).

I am one of Sony's victims. They did not honor my warranty for 3 of these headphones that had either: popping noise on one side of the earphones, touch control issues that couldn't be solved with vol going up and down by itself and Bluetooth issues. If you want to risk it by saving a few bucks, on you but I would really read all the threads on Sony first

Totally agreed. That's why it's cheap. Get what you pay for.

Has anyone had any problems with their grey market xm3?

Since AT&T cancelled my order I think I might just jump on one of these grey market deals

Get a squaretrade warranty geniuses
Then you've increased the price of the headphones to the point that you could purchase from an authorized seller.

Also, I doubt these are repairable by any repair shop, so if they fail, you'll just get your purchase price back from Squaretrade, but still be out the cost of the warranty, plus you won't have working headphones any more. With an authorized reseller, Sony will send you a replacement.

I rolled the dice and ordered last night.. checked reviews of sellers on rakuten and BBB.. several the company is a scam and several offsetting I ordered anyway and everything is fine... So I figure if they show up and work all is well.. nothing shows up or a box with moldy 🧀 smell and dusty headphones in it I'm gonna make one or two good faith effort to return and then let Citibank card handle it... We will see..

Squaretrade extended warranty with this purchase from unauthorized seller
3-Year Standard Protection Plan $49.99 + $223.51 = $273.50
3-Year Accident Protection Plan $79.99 + 223.51 = $303.50

Recent deal from authorized seller (Beach Camera) with standard warranty (Limited warranty - labor - 90 days Limited warranty: parts - 1 year)
$253.50

A little more money for a little more warranty but as stated Squaretrade will not likely repair, only refund so you lose $50-$75.

Another option is to use your credit card extended warranty at no cost. Unsure how reliable this is as I have never had to use mine for that purpose.

Anyone have any experience getting Citibank extended warranty to cover a defect if Sony won't honor warranty due to unauthorized retailer?? I.e. microphone stops working day 10.. Sony says you didn't buy from authorized retailer.. would Citibank cover it? Or do I need to wait till day 366 and file the claim with Citibank?? Thanks in advance!!
