I'm looking to switch from Canon to Sony, but I think I'm going to wait a bit as I think discounts will get better once A7R4 hits the streets.

Using Sony exclusively with adapted Canon lenses. Best combo IMO.

Are you using MC-11? If you don't mind, what Sony camera(s) and canon lenses do you use? I have the a6000 and MC-11 (for canon), but haven't bought any canon lenses.

I am using the MC-11 with Sony A6400. Tamron 18-400mm is my everything lens. Occasionally I put on the Tamron 150-600mm. Both work great for my needs (amateur wildlife photography).

Thank you! I also bought the Sigma 150-600mm C to use with my a6000 + MC-11. I will receive it this Tuesday. I am also in the market for a6400. Looking for a deal Smilie. I would like to buy one everything/everyday lens and looked at the Tamron 18-400mm, but reviews were not that great. How is your experience with the 18-400. I am also trying to be an amateur wildlife photographer.

I haven't had any issues, but I've also never had better lenses. This is my first "real camera". Still amazed at how expensive photography is. When the Sony batteries get low the MC-11 will cause the camera to throw weird errors. Keep those batteries charged.

You can add me on Instagram to see sample shots (account is private but you can send a request). Everything above water is using the A6400 with Tamron 18-400, everything below water is A6000 with 16-50mm kit lens. IG: thecoleprotocol

Actually scrolling through realized I mispoke. Everything in my feed from the whale sharks forward is with the Sony cameras. Everything prior was phone camera.

don't know why A7III is control better than 5D MarkIV, but still shoot more picture with 5D. hope this will change when the A7 R 4 come out.

I'll probably going to be selling all of my Canon gear including lenses. One of the biggest reasons I want to switch is lower size/weight. Keeping big bulky Canon lenses defeats the purpose. I'm waiting for further drop on A7iii/A7Riii and will be picking up Tamron 28-70mm 2.8 to go along with it.

MC-11 works well if you're just shooting photos in daylight. Lower light and there's some hunting. Also af-c had some freezing issues in the past, not sure if it's still an issue as I sold most of my canon glass. If you plan to shoot video, you'll need to do manual focus as AF his horrible (non-existent) with any adapter. Switch to Sony and buy some native glass. You won't regret it. I don't.

Agreed if you can afford the Sony glass. For my specific use I needed affordable long lenses for wildlife and liked the Sony features in the camera body.

Hard to decide between A7III AND A7rii... i like the 42mp but maybe I don't really need it?

Edit:guys, reread my post. I'm not talking about a7r3. And this happens with every thread.

Wonder there is a good adapter for Nikon lens.
