Sometimes you are not trying to break the limit but get caught in a bad situation. Like passing a slower car or not noticing the limit dropped significantly suddenly.

I think a radar detector is absolutely fair to have, just to avoid those BS revenue generating tickets that are born out of small towns and speed traps.

Yep, speeding as a whole is actively treated as a revenue generator in a lot of small towns

Groups such as the National Motorists Associationdefine speed trap more narrowly as a place where "traffic enforcement is focused on extracting revenue from drivers instead of improving safety".[44]When highway speed limits drop suddenly just as they enter a municipality which collects large amounts of revenue from traffic tickets, a safety hazard can be introduced, and efforts have been made in the U.S. to ban this practice.[45] Some police forces have even been forced to disband as a result of overzealous enforcement.[46

lol all these butt hurt comments, let me guess.. cheap bimmer drivers or WRX guys? : )

I use the R3 everyday but I still find the first comment funny and not offensive. He doesn't even suggest you shouldn't drive over speed limit. His point is totally legit and this is site all about ''slick deals'', he is not quite wrong.

On the other hand, there are towns with unconstitutional speed traps where this will save you. Situation awareness is your right, so it definitely justifies itself buying a radar detector.

Honestly sometimes your time is worth more. Accounting for the last ticket I got (price and insurance increase) my time was $3.00 per hour. I'll take the occasional ticket.

Can someone leave a comment on the actual product?

Is it good? Does it work well?

Is this a good deal? I'm actually considering this so if someone could leave insightful comments
