I only read the featured "nasty review." It was written by someone with 4 total reviews, all of them 1 star. Must be a very unlucky guy.

Exactly! Folks don't check all the brands for reliability. Even Samsung has issues.
5% or less bad reviews is pretty standard. Above 5% needs research.

Repped!

But YRMV. I always check mine completely before using them as a boot drive. Bought 5 so far and they all are working. Ask me in 5 years.laugh out loud

You need to disregard all reviews that say: I could not do a clone, shipping and order issues, didn't return a product under warranty.

The ones that mater are: failed after one year, boot errors, disk errors.

I always keep a full clone of every drive every 6 months for a hot swap.

Recently I had boot issues with a SanDisk so that one is used for different storage on another system.

Crucial is probably the best drive for price and quality but Samsung EVO prices are coming down.

Thanks. Waiting this for a long time.

$15 off makes it even more "value for money".

It also has the best TBW than all other comparables.

Even better than Samsung 860 evo, which is an upper model, and it has 600TBW.

pretty nasty reviews on amazon...

4.4 overall rating with 1,732 reviews.
That's in line with other drives like the Crucial BX500 and Sandisk Ultra 3D.

Nice drive, installed a 2tb on PS4 pro and load time has shortened significantly. It was a better deal when 20% points were available.

I bought one of these to go with a aincent 1TB Samsung Evo 850 as a 2nd SSD game drive. Works great, seems just as fast. Paid $100 maybe 3 months ago? Would buy again and recommend.
