There is a sapphire 570 one for $120 with no rebate involved. It only has 4 gb, and I'm unsure how they compare fps benchmarked.

Yeah, I hate that. I've had manufacturers do that before, like on my RaidMax computer case and they had tons of complaints about it. On the other hand, I purchased an MSI card before and got my rebate. In fact, I paid less for this cheap card 2-3 years ago than what it is selling for today...I figured it wouldn't even be sold anymore...crazy!

Most games will not see a noticeable difference between 4GB and 8GB.

I have this card paired with a 2600x and game at 2560x1080 at 60fps with mostly high/ultra settings. Very happy with this card. Also squeezed out a pretty decent overclock on it too without temps going crazy.

I'll chime in here. I bought this card months ago with a rebate. I had no problems getting my rebate. Be sure to follow the instructions to a T. Don't give them any reason to refuse the rebate. This is a pretty good card for my use (not a power gamer) and gave my aging build a new lease on life.

The 570 does not have the capacity to handle the workload that requires 8GB. It will play most titles at 60fps 1080p no problem and those games won't require more than 4gb.

8GB vram is worthless on this card. At most you'll notice a 1FPS increase

Yeah! When I built my rig, most of the parts I got it from newegg coz they got a good deal with rebates. Well sad to say I haven't receive any of those rebates. Tried contact them but its just a waste of time.. Just avoid the rebate deal on newegg..

I have done close to 100 rebates in my life and I have received all of them. Only two gave me problems and they eventually paid

Same here. I've had very good success with rebates. The key to a successful rebate is to follow the rebate instructions exactly and in the proper time frame laid out in the terms and conditions.
They do require a little patience however, and end up a great surprise.

the vram will not increase the FPS

what it will do is allow higher res textures to be loaded in without crippling the game... but that being said.. for most games you won't be able to take advantage because this card can't run at 4k, or do 1440p gaming on graphic intensive games

Not entirely true - i have this card and played some Division 2 at 1440p - mostly on high (some shadows lower) settings - FPS is within 48-75 and GPU memory usage is around 5.5 gigs.
Did the same rebate in May - submitted everything online, received the rebate a couple weeks ago.
