This is an IPS Panel as Asus now uses the Term Wide View, referring to the wide viewing angle of IPS Panels, like HP and Dell. Quality is just okay, around 60% sRGB and 40% or lower Adobe RGB, like any other laptops below $600.

I totally agree with you. https://static.slickdealscdn.com/ima...lies/smile.gifI couldn't able to stand low-quality plastic housing finishes at all. I know I'm being little harsh for $400 but rather spend little more for the better-looking device.

For me, deep flexing keyboard was the deal breaker for everyday use. skip to 0:49

I just go the laptop. I was worried about the flexing and can assure you there is really none. It does NOT charge via USB C, so that was a bummer. The control key on the keyboard is smaller than I am used to but other than that this is great. There are better laptops out there but I think for the price you are getting a great deal. I wanted something light and closer to 3lbs than 4lbs with a larger screen (for excel) and this is fine for me. It has a good processor and a separate graphics card which insures that this laptop specs will stay current for at least 2 years. Screen is great but does not fold back flat (that might be a dealbreaker for some). Speakers were pretty good.

Thanks for the YT link. Keyboard bounce is the deal breaker. feels too cheap and anxiety inducing.

Keep in mind the Vega shares your ram, doesn't have dedicated memory. So you'd likely have only 6gb ram available if you didn't upgrade later, for example, with 2gb going to the gpu

Had this for a couple of days but decided to return it. Was made of plastic, matte screen, speakers were not the best, terrible battery life, did not charge via USB C. Not sure about upgradeability, as I did not open it. I guess for $400, it ain't bad, but I'd rather spend a bit more for better quality, like the recent Lenovo Yoga 730 at Best Buy.
Isn't that laptop double the price?

How does this compare to any of the $200 laptops posted? If it will only be used to stream youtube, Word, Excel, hook up to the TV to stream, and maybe fortnite (not necessary - just if the kids want to play on it), would this be overkill or would any of the $200 ish laptops posted be good enough? Thanks!

Fortnite won't run well on those $200 laptops, because that game has higher demands on PC than mobile. The Vega iGPU can handle it much better than an Intel iGPU.

The other tasks you mentioned would be fine on an i3 or Ryzen 3 chip.

Yeah, you're only going to get 100% sRGB on their higher end models. On mine it's useful for changing color depth in projects.

But I think people shouldn't get to wrapped up in sRGB and DCI P3. These things are relevant to photographers and artists mostly.

It is, but it was $550 at Best Buy recently, with a student discount.

This form of Vega shares RAM with the system. Some laptops allow users to alter the allocation via the UEFI. This iGPU is close to the MX150, so it would be fine for CC apps.

Vega 8 can play minecraft and roblox, sure. Fortnite, yes if you're willing to play on low and 900p. 1080p will drop into low 30s at times.

*edit* the vega will take 2gb of ram though. with another stick in dual channel, this would perform better.

410 vs 340. Which one is s better deal if you don't mind asking. All I want is a laptop can play wcr, assuming both would and the dell has t type c charging.

I don't see the 13" dell for $340 (I see $575), but it's smaller, and the graphics card isn't as good.
