I know a lot of people prefer Sushi Go Party, but this seems like a really good price for the original game. Lowest price ever on Amazon according to CCC.

Sushi Go or Sushi Go Party ?

Here are the differences. Which one to go for is up to you.

Sushi Go supports 2-5 players, Sushi Go Party supports 2-8 players.

Sushi Go Party's box size is about 4x Sushi Go's. (Both are tin cans.)

Sushi Go doesn't include any way to keep track of your score (older editions might have cards that you turn around to indicate your score), Sushi Go Party comes with a scoring board.

Sushi Go has 8 types of cards, Sushi Go Party has 23 (you use 8 each game, so there are quite a lot of combinations).

In Sushi Go, you have a single deck for the game; the whole game runs through the deck once (no card is re-used). In Sushi Go Party, the deck is only for a round; you shuffle all cards (except desserts) back to the deck for the next round.

That also means Sushi Go doesn't have any setup/cleanup time (just put the deck to the box); Sushi Go Party needs setup (shuffle all cards used in the game) and cleanup (separate all the cards back to their slots).

Sushi Go Party is more expensive than Sushi Go. (Although I think not by much, I forgot.)

Got this as a stocking stuffer last year. A pretty fun game that is easy to pick up and learn. Might pick up another couple for friends.

Here's a short video that I use to explain the rules to newbies:

Was indeed OOS for a moment at Amazon but it's back now. Grabbed it with a $1 no rush credit added on so a very slick deal indeed. Thanks!
