I bought 2 of these the last deal. Good, solid machines for $225. Be aware though, dell rebates are almost as bad as compusa back in the day. Each rebate asked for 3-4 more pieces of info. Why doesn't my shipping address match my billing, is this personal or business, send invoices, send packing slip, etc, etc. I'm assuming just to see if I forgot and didn't follow up.

Pass, simply because I do not support unethical rebate processes.

This does not appear to be a rebate... so not sure what all the rebate talk is for...

Machine is quite nice for 200 bucks. It's a visa card and not rebate. May grab 2 more. Anyone know how to open it up to expand memory and ssd?

It IS a rebate. You have to submit your proof of purchase along with a claim form online within a certain number of days or you loose the rebate. Then after you have submitted your "claim" they decide if they are going to pay, or maybe ask you to provide more proof. If you don't hear back from them, or don't receive your money, it's incumbent on you to follow up with them within a certain number of days or your claim expires forever. That's a rebate.

Use the $100 to add ram and a larger SSD. Read the 1 star reviews before assuming this can do basic web browsing and office work. Impressive it has a FHD 1920x1080p screen. Was getting tired seeing the 768p screens on these entry level models.

Chatted with Dell because I was concerned. It is a fcking rebate, it's very deceitful as there is very little info on the page.

www.dellgiftcardpromo.com
File within 30 days of shipment
info for claims sent via email after shipment (never received mine), never got any fcking update with this order at all. Laptop just showed up one day.
Claims review within 48 hours, once approved it can take up to 10 days to receive the digital Visa card.

If you didn't receive the email like me you would have to contact support.

support@dellgiftcardpromo.com or call (888) 346-1443

Terms and Conditons [dellgiftcardpromo.com]

Hope this helps

Edit: added Terms and Condition

For all those crapping on this over the rebate, I received my computer on Monday, got the email Tuesday, and "rebate" Visa egift card was already validated and emailed to me.
