Depends on how much you want to spend like anything else. You can get good stuff\quality real wood furniture that costs a good amount, to mediocre at best Ikea type stuff to particle board complete junk that is cheap.

Online wholesaler or direct from manufacturer depending on who you are dealing with. You really need to know what you want before you can deal with it in an intelligent way. Some like Ethan Allen or Thomasville you will never get at a bargain price new since they make you go to their stores and generally do not sell through third parties (better to buy used online via Ebay in that case imo if you can deal with moving the stuff yourself). Other pretty good manufacturers imo like Hooker Furniture for ex., are sold at various places online through wholesalers and third parties. There are sites online that act as sort of portals for this like:

Do a google search on wholesale furniture stores. Again, best to know what you want first and shop around. Back when I was looking for furniture for the new home a number of years ago, I used to visit the retail places, get an idea of what I wanted and then called up a wholesaler I was dealing with at the time who was very knowledgeable about the various manufacturers and their offerings (they closed down shop recently after about a century in business). They were good in that you could tell them generally what you wanted and they would point you at the brand\models to look at and they had great prices and low cost shipping (though you had to wait for it to be shipped via truck from the Carolinas which could take awhile lol). No sales tax at the time either.
