Why are the reviews so bad? Anyone here have any experience with this tripod?

Flimsy tripod for the most part. If you are going to use a very light camera with a light lens, this will work. Spend the $$$ if you travel frequently

The reviews are pretty clear. Not sure why you're asking for one more. Sounds like you want to buy it and are hoping one person can talk you into it even though many have told you it's not that great.

The main complaint I have seen is the lock mechanism on the legs. It doesn't stay tight according to reviews on BH and on Amazon. I have a MeFoto RoadTrip Classic and it's pretty compact and the legs always stay solid and don't slide. You don't want to worry about your gear falling on its own due to poor locking on the tripod.

I bought one for this price and thought it was a good deal. I used it a few times and finally realized this is a POS. It is good for nothing except if you have a smartphone or some sort really light. If you like to throw away $50 then by all means, try it...
