Had this and returned it, it ran too hot even with throttlestop, games dropped down as low as 5fps and stayed there for 30+ sec at a time constantly, keyboard and screen were junk. I'd stay away.

Same experience here. On top of those problems a handful of keys on my keyboard wouldnt work. Returned mine and got the Asus GU502 from BB when it was on sale last week and couldnt be happier!

Same happened to me with three different laptops with the 9750h— two had a 2060 and one a 1660ti

Ya forgot to mention the spacebar wouldn't work if you pressed it slightly off dead center. I bought an Asus ROG Strix Hero 3 instead and it's worlds better, 0 issues thus far after a couple months of owning.

Actually I just bought this from Dell with their backtoschool deal 2 weeks ago. Your claims are somewhat unfounded. I do agree that the laptop can run hot but this is same for all laptops in general. I did use throttlestop and undervolting this laptop has not caused any problems for me gaming. It improved greatly. I took the liberty to repaste the thermal paste with a better grade and I couldn't be any happier with this laptop. In fact undervolting is probably not needed if you repaste the thermal paste. Regarding the overall structure of the keyboard and screen, this is untrue. The keyboard is fine the way it is. It's just about the same as any other laptop keyboards. The screen, it's 144hz IPS panel, what's wrong with it?
Guess I did have the 60Hz version so your screen definitely would be better, mine was too dim and washed out, you could tell it was a low quality panel. The weird thing about my games slowing down was it wasn't overheating while happening, so it wasn't throttling that caused it. It was a crappy BIOS update 1.5.0 they put out that broke it, was fine before that.

I took off turbo boost in bios and it was fixed. Someone here mentioned it last G7 thread. Runs great now.

So you consider gimping your CPU a fix. Hmm. Shouldn't ever have to do that on a gaming laptop to get it working properly.

Lol ya I read the same on the Dell forums and I'm like hell no that's ridiculous, definitely NOT a fix and NOT something you should live with, I'd raise hell like I did and have them replace/refund. Man I went through weeks of torture dealing with them but in the end made out like a bandit as you only get like 15 days or maybe it was 30 to return and I'd had it 2 months and finally raised enough hell to get a full refund. Definitely don't just live with the turbo boost off you are really losing a lot of performance by doing that.

Yeah... That's definitely not a fix.

I bough a HP OMEN 15t with roughly the same specs (i7-8750H, GTX 2070maxq, same memory and ssd setup) at similar price($1100). I wonder shall I return the hp and buy this one instead?

Want to buy this ... But reading your comments makes me think twice. I have had many dells (not gamer) and they were all top quality. If these claims are true, How come a company like dell release a product that has not been tested 100%??? Or are only the 2 out of 200000 had bad luck and complaining? It is normal that the happy users almost never comment or give review about their products.

Dell's QC isn't all that great. when I ordered this (before, not this deal), it came with a dead pixel on the 240hz panel upgrade. returned and didn't look back for a replacement
