Me too.

I have one of these (128gb version) and it works well. I really like the metal body.

Would these work well with Nvidia Shield to expand from 16gb or too slow?

It's on Amazon for $39 as well. Reviews say slow or erratic write speeds.

Yeah I just bought one from Amazon since I don't have free local delivery from Fry's. I think it's probably USB 3.1 compatibility issue but I am gonna take a chance. I was going to see if they have 256GB using USB 3.0 for the same price but they don't.

I have several 32gb version of this USB and they are SUPER SLOW!!

Got em with Samsung pay points while back and when transferring 1.5gb worth of single file, speed was like 20-25 mbs.

I'm sure 256gb will be faster but not sure by how much @@

Doesn't really matter when it writes at USB 2.0 speeds.

These have slow write speeds too. But in either case it's not from throttling...it's just from using cheap chips to save cost.

Yes I was really disappointed how slow in writing my new 128GB Samsung Bar Plus was. A cheap PNY Turbo 128GB USB 3.0 I got 5 years ago can do 140MB/s write.

Also curious how much better the 256GB will be.

Will this work good on a Playstation classic for extra games?

Supposedly you should use a low power USB 2 device for the initial flash, but once that's complete you can use this with a USB On the Go (OTG) adapter through the port on the back.

There's a noticable difference in speed between a 2.0 and 3.1 drive, but it's not huge. You're still capped to USB 2 speeds, but USB 3 drives do tend to run a little faster in 2.0 ports.

Honestly, I think this is overkill. I have like 30+ extra games on a 32GB drive and I still have over 4 gigs free. If you're going to mod it and add NES games, most of them end up being just a couple megabytes. A 64GB device should suffice for just about anyone.

The only reason you'd want something bigger is if you want to run PSP games which can be 1GB each, but then you've got to buy an adapter and a PS4 controller to get he joysticks. At that point, though, you're spending several times the cost of the PlayStation.
