Look at the seller: NANFU. Unlikely to be knockoffs.

In for 1. Thanks OP!

The only non - rechargeable batteries that won't leak are lithium.

Did A Google search. NANFU is a major battery company in China (think kind of like China's version of Duracell or Energizer). Been around for over 30 years. I'm going to take a leap of faith that when they say these don't leak they mean it. In for 48 AA. Never tried these before, and I've got a remote that eats AAs.

Is this really a common problem? Serious question, not sarcastic. I've kept unused batteries for years without issue. Do they only leak when in use/installed?

This applies to ALL non-lithium batteries: They only leak when you need them the most. If you're lucky, they won't leak but it's the nature of the chemistry. They can leak installed or uninstalled especially when their voltage drops either from use or near the end of their life. Carbon-Zinc are the worst. Alkaline are much better, with a shelf life lasting years, but still not immune from leakage. Having said all that, I did buy a set of AA and AAA from these guys - willing to give them a try.
