This app has terrible reviews & allows permissions to pretty much everything on your phone. U r getting $5 to allow them to collect every bit of info on u for 5 days. Up to u. I think it's a hard pass for me & i love me some free credits
I have to agree with you. There is a way around it though. Install it inside Chrome. Don't use Chrome for your *other* browsing needs for 5 days. I don't think the extension can get access to your browsing history.

You just install it for Chrome. If you're using Chrome, then you've already given everything away to Google anyway. I just put it on Chrome because the only thing I use Chrome for is Netflix and Hulu because stupid Firefox has a bad tearing issue with video, and I'm pretty sure Netflix and Hulu already tell Google what I'm watching.
You need to read a little more on Data markets. Amazon probably doesn't sell data to others. But, in general the whole game is very dangerous. There might be some security holes with each and every extension, too.

I've read that this add-on is very intrusive. What if you install it on your desktop browser, is it as bad as on your phone? Not sure it's worth the $5.

Any way to do this on a Fire 8 HD tablet? I assume yes since it's an Amazon product, but how to make sure? I don't my tablet for much personal/financial stuff so less worries there.

Reinstalled it for a day. Doesn't show. Giving it 1 day to show then re-uninstalling it.

With the vast majority of comments from people who didn't get the deal, surprised there's only 7% who TD for unable to replicate.

note in chrome you can limit what websites it can tamper with if you go into the extension settings

set it to

*.amazon.com
*.ssl-images-amazon.com
*.amazonaws.com

btw you can be darn sure a company that saves and shares voices recordings in your home is copying your entire browser history

I swear an Amazon gift card or gift certificate is worth more than cash considering what some of the people on here are willing to do for them! I wouldn't be surprised if some street walkers do accept them instead of cash. LOL

You're right. That's why there is only a single system in my house that I watch Netflix and Hulu from. That is the only system that has Chrome installed. It is also completely air-gapped, so no data can get in our out of it. That makes me reasonably sure that the risk is pretty low for using the Amazon assistant.
