The TN-350 deal expires a while ago, however the TN-300 is still active for $139, which is even better
https://slickdeals.net/f/13286155-teac-tn-300se-analog-belt-drive-turntable-139-free-shipping?v=1

For reference, the Fluance RT80, RT81, Teac TN300, and Teac TN350 all use the same motor, control board, etc and are made in the same factory. In general, all these will perform nearly identically if equipped with the same cartridge. The TN350 and Fluance models use the identical S-shaped tonearm, while the TN300 use straight version, but there is no difference in sound quality and performance from this (the identical straight arm is also used on the Elac 50 and Thorens TD201 so if it's good enough for them...). The preamp is also the same in all these as is the platter. The Teac and Fluance RT81 both use the AT95e cartridge.

Differences beyond cosmetic choices - The Teac models have a USB out for ripping, fluance does not. The fluance has an auto-stop feature and the Teac does not. Fluance has better warranty and customer service. Fluance has a thicker plinth.

I would choose the Teac over the RT81 given the price difference with the sale.

Now the RT82 and above are a bit different animal. Still made in the same factory but they change up the motor and spindle assemblies to incorporate an optical speed sensor. This helps to reduce speed inconsistency and reduce wow and flutter. The other design changes they made should improve isolation, too, in theory. Given that the RT84 and RT85 are unavailable, largely due to the lack of availability of the acrylic platters (the only difference of these models besides cartridge choice), the RT82 is really the best deal out of the turntable offerings. You can always upgrade an RT82 into an RT85 later, too, as the only differences are the acrylic platter and the cartridge.

In short, go with the RT82 for the upgrade or go with the Teac TN300 for the basic (unless the auto-stop is critical for you to spend extra for).

Note that the Fluance auto-stop only stops the motor/platter from turning, it does not return the tonearm (which is a good thing where audiophiles are concerned)

Wow, looks like it did break! I ordered within the first 10 minutes of it going active before I posted this and the site was working smoothly.

Edit: Just checked again and it's working.

Back up now. It was a whole bunch of people like me that had never heard of this company clicking through to check it out even though there is 0% chance that I'm actually going to buy something.

Time the check out the deals.....

Their rt-85 is actually really nice and highly rated, always out of stock, I literally miss it every time they get some on the site, within minutes? Or an hour it's sold out.

Just buy the RT83 (or even 82 if you're happy with black) and buy a 2M Blue. This essentially gives you everything the RT85 has, minus the acrylic platter. On the flipside, you'll now have an extra cartridge in case the other goes bad, and I keep hearing that Fluance will eventually sell the acrylic platters, which will give you an RT85.

Will it work only with vinyl records or any other forms? Does it include speakers or to use external speakers? I am asking about RT80.

I have the bookshelf and center channel speakers for my surround sound system.
Amazing speakers for the price - 20% off is a no-brainer.

Avoid the AB40 soundbase. Had one crap out after 6-8 months. Returned under warranty. The new one crapped out after 6-8 months.
