I don't think so.

The shrouded one is essentially always for sale at $40, then. I've been watching it for weeks as I'm considering this and another case. You can say the 55 means $55, but it's being sold for $40 all the time- this is referenced in lots of places (re: youtube reviews that are months to years old).

So either it's always on sale or you're mistaken far as I can tell.

https://imgur.com/a/WvNo7F7 - literally a year old video referencing it being $40. And that's the shrouded version, to be clear. The unshrouded one is naturally cheaper.

Pretty sure it's almost always this price.

For another $5 you can get the powersupply shroud.

it's normally closer to 45 to 50, so this is definitely on sale. Matrexx 55 means $55 retail.

Also the price on the shrouded and 3 fan versions have increased since their initial release due to popularity. The 3-fan is typically $80-$90, shrouded is typically $60-$65.

I have this case and I love it, it's great for the price.

But just to clear up the discussion above, according to Deepcool, MSRP is $40. Here's an article from when the case was first shown at Computex 2018, where Deepcool announced the prices for the different models: https://www.anandtech.com/show/12...oards-4090

If the price was in fact raised because of popularity, that sounds like a decision Newegg made on their own.

Newegg charges tax and shipping for this item, so saving $5 on the base price helps offset the cost of those. I think it's a decent deal.

I like it for the money definitely. Got it for an old motherboard i had lying around I only wanted a cheap RGB, this fit the bill. RGB looks great on this lights are controllable by motherboard if you have it, manually if you don't.

It just looks so big to me even for an ATX. That is because it has a large space behind the motherboard for cable management. I really like mine without the shroud . My power supply looks cool why hide it, again the wire management will hide the wires as long as they are black you are good! But really thou case is beefy.

Why do many case put the filter on the exhaust side not on the front intake? What the heck is being filtered when he dust is already inside the case.

The $35 deal: 0 fans. However, this is still a very nice deal.

The case with the shroud has never been on sale for $40 to my knowledge (and I've had a deal alert set for both cases since they released back in November), Maybe $50. The case in this deal usually goes on sale for $45, occasionally $40. I've bought 4 of them for flips and I only buy when it's on sale. I don't think I've ever seen it at $35 but it may have hit that price a couple of times. This is a solid deal.
It's for sale currently for that, and it's referenced twice in the top results for the case on YT which are upwards of 12 months old. How has it "never" been on sale? What?

Looks like a solid case for $35-40, PSU shroud, top mount radiator support, tempered glass, RGB (if that is your thing, it isn't mine).

I'm currently in the process of de-RGBing my build since I'm over it, but it's great if you are in to unicorns and rainbows and stuff! Big Grin
