Can anyone comment on how well the duplex scanning works on this? I have bunches and bunches of papers (some duplex) that I would like to scan to file. Thanks.
Scanning is not as fast as with a huge corporate-grade Xerox I have at work, but totally manageable.
I had a huge binder with training materials after one of the workshops and it was quite an easy task to scan all sheets using this scanner. I think I had an issue with sticky page only once so far (basically I had 10 sheets but ended up with 9 pages in the resulting file with 1 page missing).

Dang, I bought this exact same printer on sale from B&H Photo a couple of weeks ago when it was on sale there, but not this low (I paid $160). I am, however, very happy with it so far!

We were sick of needing to print something at home and going to use the inkjet and everything was dried up and would not work. As for the toner cartridge prices...all the brands are pretty much expensive. You can buy cheaper ones on Amazon and other places or get a refill your own toner kit.

For a home user or small business, I think this is a great deal. Ricoh has an app and you can download it for your phone and then easily print directly from a phone or tablet. Was very easy to set up on our home network. As someone else mentioned, it is heavy! My wife had to help me unload it from the box and I am always muscling things myself....not this!

Did some research on replacement toner and found the most economical way to replace the toner carts is to refill them. Non-OEM carts will run you about $40 a piece (as low as $135 for a set of 4). If you are willing to get your hands dirty, refilling kits will run you $40 (1 time refill). You must replace the chips on these carts. Most kits come with replacements.

It seems expensive and a lot of work compared to other color laser printers ...

Little expensive given toner replacement I agree. Wish I had an adorama Amex offer saved to use.

Thanks! I went ahead and ordered one. I have been wanting a color laser printer for years.
Make sure to check costs of replacements. Also how many pages per cartridge. Remember, you need 4 cartridges to use this.

I bought an all in 1 color laser printer years ago for $99 on slickdeals (<2014). But, the cartridges were only 500pgs (chip limited), and black cost $80.

I now have it sitting in a closet, since I refuse to pay that much for 500pgs. I bought a black & white laser as a replacement, as it has generic 3000pg TN660 cartridges for $4 on slickdeals all the time.

Do a price protection claim with your credit card. All the good cards offer it.

All the good cards USED TO offer it. Now that benefit is very rare. I think Citi was the last major card issuer to kill that benefit as of some date this year. Theirs was called price rewind. There were threads about it when each major bank killed that particular perk across nearly all of their cards.

If you have really a lot of papers to scan and you value your time I suggest something like this:

https://www.bhphotovideo.com/c/pr...anner.html

which has been as low as $288 recently:

This one! I have the printer only version (SP C250DN) and refilled to toner pretty easily with a screwdriver.

refill kits cost like $40 on ebay.

the new printer only version costs more than this all in one, so unless you need to save space this is a good value.

Toner prices are high on this, but I got the printer only version of this device a couple years ago and am still on the initial toner cartridges. YMMV, of course, but it's been a great printer overall.
True. I have an older version of this and the starter toners lasted quite a while. Replacements are expensive, but have much more toner than the ones included. You have to remember this isn't an inkjet. The toner cartridges are huge and built like a tank.
