Price for being the "best", flagship stuff is expensive for a reason. They are still way overpriced and they are still selling like anything, the even higher end models like Lightning are out of stock everywhere,

I genuinely would like to know why people are buying the GTX 280 TI at current price. Not saying that is a bad/good price, I am just curious about why people are willing to pay that price. Personally, I would never buy it for the obvious reasons but I feel like I'm missing out something. Are people making money using these cards? Are you mining some weird 1000th type of crypto currency? What exactly is going on?
The 2080Ti is a special beast because they're introducing a lot of technology that might not necessarily benefit the customer. The actual chip is HUGE and very expensive to manufacture. But this is because of the RT & integer cores that might not necessarily benefit the average gamer. That said, I would love for them to introduce a GTX 1680 Ti without all the extra fluff and sell it for $700.

Not many games with ray tracing. That's the issue.

It's all good. I'm just going to wait. Thanks for the info though.
Ethrem,

I submitted an RMA for them. So far, they have honored the warranty period and have been responsive but note:
1. You will pay shipping to return the device and have to print/write your own label
2. There is no advance RMA option. So if your board does not have integrated graphics, you'll have to wait the quoted 2-3 week time.

Hope this helps

I know their warranty. How is the actual service though? Because you can have a 10 year warranty and if you have to pay shipping to China to get it serviced and wait a month, it's much better to just go EVGA and pay more.

And by the time they catch up and put ray tracing into games as a regular feature, we're talking 2023..

i paid for my msi gaming x 1080 ti a year ago for 520. I think it was the best decision i made. I really enjoy 1440p 120hz gaming on my samsung 65" 6qfn tv. I cant stand 4k @60hz and the 2080ti doesnt have enough power for high refresh rates unless you turn down the qualify... Just isnt justifiable. 1440p gaming is the sweet spot for me right now.

Pick up a used 1080ti or wait for a good sale on a 2080. Hopefully intel and amd can shake things up and drive prices down next year...
I got a Msi Lightning X 1080ti for $580 used. Plays all the games I like great. I think I will still be good for years to come.

I didn't even buy it for ray tracing... I bought it to have the best graphics in a single gpu.

Uh... for 10 months I've been enjoying that and that's 300 days you cant buy back.

Guess I'm not poor enough to have to justify why I dont have the nicest things in life.

Sure but there's other cheaper cards that you wouldn't even notice the difference between them and this card.

Nothing wrong with having nice things but I refuse to just waste money or over pay on something new that gives me no real benefit just to have it.
