Despite it having good ratings overall, top 8 reviews on Amazon are 1 stars, which is concerning.

Great price. I bought a cheapo one on Amazon because this was too expensive when i needed it. My cheapo one is working perfectly though; must resist.

This is the top rated model on The Wirecutter, though the number of one star reviews is concerning.

This looks very nice. Just wondering if I need such a high tech and pricy appliance for boiling water.

Shame, I have this kettle, got a couple in store a couple years ago for $20. Fantastic deal but even without the deal, definitely worth $45.

Oh god, do not buy this Cuisinart kettle.

I bought it because The Sweethome recommended it. Bought it in 2015 from Amazon, maybe double the price here in this deal, but it was still considered a "deal" back then.

Within nine months, the tank had started leaking water overnight. The base of the kettle would be in a puddle of water almost every morning, so my family would basically make sure not water was left inside of it after making about four cups of tea for everyone in the morning or at night before going to bed. Eventually, we just moved on to some other generic kettle from Amazon and that lasted until February of 2018. When it finally died, for some reason we went back to this Cusinart thinking we'd had a bum unit last time and some bad luck.

Nope. Within six months, it began leaking again but this time we filed a warranty claim through Cuisinart. Cuisinart charges $10 or $15 for S/H for sending the replacement unit. We'd also have to pay return postage to ship the broken unit back to them.

We got our replacement unit and didn't return the old, broken one and just chucked it out. It's been working since last thanksgiving but it still hasn't been a full year of usage yet.

I think the poor Amazon reviews will mostly have people complaining about this same leaking issue.

I absolutely love my cuisinart kettle and use it almost daily in the fall-winter months which is usually September-April for me (Chicago weather) I have had no issues with it and heats up very fast. I have had it for almost 5 years now!
