Night vision camcorder for recording the night sky

I went UFO spotting in Sedona and we used gen3 night vision goggles which were awesome.

I'd really like to get something that would have night vision like this but with the capability of recording. Does anyone know of any good night vision camcorders that could do this?

Thanks

Camcorder? Facepalm

Are you looking for something fixed (as in attached to your house) or something mobile that you can put on a tripod?

For the former a high quality security camera with a big image sensor and wide aperture can work. For something mobile, you're looking at a DSLR and long exposure.

Well i was asking about a camcorder as i thought something specifically designed to record video would be better. But i'm open to anything.

I'm looking for something mobile.

After doing some digging, i may just get some night vision goggles and get a tiny camera that mounts to one of the eye pieces.

Just to clarify on regarding "mobile" and "night sky", if you're looking to take great photos of the sky get a DSLR and use a tripod and long exposure. If you want to film while you walk around in the dark, you'll need something different that's sensitive to IR light.

Yes, i'm looking to record the night sky, not take photos. I'm looking to record items moving in the night sky at high altitudes.

When i was in Sedona, i saw things in the sky through night vision goggles, but you couldn't see anything with the naked eye. Thats why i'm looking for something that has the same viewing capabilities as night vision goggles in terms of being able to see, but with the ability to record.

I see camcorders that have night vision, but i doubt they are the same seeing how they cost a fraction of the night vision goggles. If they did the same, then you could just use the same technology to make much cheaper night vision goggles. Thats why i turned to the group for help. But i think my best option at this time is a camera that mounts to the night vision goggles.

If you are just recording, you could just get a night vision monocular... Just make sure to get one with a tripod adapter and video out.

Something like this would probably work.
