The HP are good and can take some abuse without blowing apart. The Diablo brand HD sell are crap.

Your an idiot. The 4.5" 5 pack is only 60¢ more...don't listen to this idiot, even if he's playing around it's wrong to do it, there are people that will listen. You do know you're potential liable if someone got hurt from your stupid advise, right? Look up the case of Michelle Carter or any YouTube channel that mention "do not try this at home"
What? Where? When? I see $8

I don't know where he was referring to, but harbor freight always has a good price on cutoff wheels. I think I pay 9.99 (10 pack) regular price and they go on sale.
The HF ones don't last quite as well as DeWalt, but overall I'm happy with them.

Can you use the 6" on a 4.5" grinder without the guard?
Not worth it, check out Google images for grinder injuries from cutoff wheels coming loose, or grinding wheels exploding. I wouldn't wish that on anyone.

The description is a bit lacking - do I need a CD, DVD or Blu-ray player to use this?
It's actually a 45 record. Not to be confused 33 record. Both will play on a standard record player. You will just have to adjust the RPM setting. 45's were normally EPs and Singles. Why get this older technology you ask? Well vinyl has had it's enthusiasts. People like the aesthetic and the rich sound it produces. Others (millennials) like to think they're trendy using 70yr technology in front of their friends. Either way it's had a big resurgence and is a fun hobby to collect.

You are better of getting the HF 10Pc 4.5in Metal Cut-off Wheel for $6.40

He's talking out his arse. The wheels are .60 more per wheel when bought in a 5 pack. The 5 pack is $8, about $1.60 per unit. This deal is for larger wheels so they are more money, hence this is a deal while the 5 packs are not.
Couple other comments;
I would never run a 6 inch on a 4 inch grinder, you are asking for trouble. If you want to get hurt that on you, please make sure no one else is around. (That includes dogs)
I've found HF cut off wheels to some of the worst. Maybe my bad luck but they aren't worth the time to put them on. My experience anyway.

HF cutting wheels are definitely horrid. i cant see how anyone would dissagree. i go through about 3 for every 1 dewalt, or otherwise brand.
