This will hit FP easily. $190-20 for $170 AR makes this the cheapest new 590 ever.Crazy to think in less than a year these have dropped from $279 to now $169.

Blanket statement? Yes!

For your individual use case? No idea. What games are you trying to play, at what settings, what framerate, and what resolution?

For $170? Yes, it doesnt really have any competition there in terms of new cards.

A Vega 56 is about 20-25% faster but the most recent deal on that here was still for $230, which is more than 20-25% more price wise.

A 1660 is about 5% faster overall than a 590 but you cant get those under $200 new it seems.

I'm currently running a GTX 960 4GB, is this a significant upgrade?

Yes, this would be a large step up in performance. Sometimes up to double the framerate (assuming you are not CPU limited).

This might be overkill - but I have a Win7 HTPC that I want to get 4K video out of... this should do it right?

it's an older i7 930 - with like 12 GB or RAM - using Emby over Windows Media Center.
