FYI, product manual says it takes 6 hours for a full charge, so not exactly quick.

I've personally used a battery tender, which has the indicators and trickle charging once fully charged, for the last 4 years on my kids' power wheels, original batteries still running strong. Added advantage that I can use the battery tender for any other 12V battery, not just power wheels.

Many people already own a car battery charger/maintainer. You can use it on ride on toys battery as they have the same battery type. You just need the right adapter.

For Power Wheels you can use https://www.amazon.com/dp/B07H5L3...07BV491TS, which cost you a little over 3 bucks. There are also adapters for other brands available.

P.S. I learned this after I purchase a Schumacher universal charger for ride on toys. If I knew this ahead, I could save 30 bucks as I already own a tender plus.

Update: Looks like Schumacher removed the adapter only product from Amazon. The link now points to their Universal Charger for Ride-on Toys which includes the adapter. Yes they want you pay $34+ instead of $3. The adapter looks like this:

Try search and see if you can find this product from another online retailer. Also, other brand may also make adapters like this. Maybe you can find them use your favorite search engine.

Update 2: The adapter name for Power Wheels is: Schumacher TAFP12V 12V Battery Cable Connector for CR7.

Looks like Battery Tender also makes charger for Power Wheels. However, seems they didn't sell adapter only.

I don't have this, but I did some research when I couldn't find my original charger.
It doesn't float the battery, so you should still unplug when fully charged.

I also read that since it's a higher output, battery life might be impacted.

I opted to get a float charger that had plugs designed for the 12v battery I had.

Not likely.
Usually you have to trick it to think the dead battery is still good by putting a good battery in parallel with it to start the charge.
