I'll be there, my wife's least favorite store ever!

(She hates the smell of the rubber tires)

It does smell funky - I always thought it was the rubber entrance mats, but maybe you're right about the tires causing it.

I buy all kinds of things there - it's a bit of a love/hate relationship because at least half of my purchases fall into the Stop-repairing-the-car-and-drive-15-miles-to-HF-and-buy-a-special-tool type thing.

The HF parking lot sales always sell the same things - a few trinkets for really cheap and minor discounts on the real tools. I wish they'd go back to the *real* parking lot sales they had 30 years ago. Factory second and damaged merchandise for pennies on the dollar. I once picked up a full sized drill press for $30 and lots of other good stuff. Folks would be lined up at 6AM on Friday waiting for the gate to open.

I hate these sales. All the good stuff is never on sale or can't be used on certain items etc etc..seems like a bunch of red tape.

http://hfcoupons.com/ and http://www.hfqpdb.com/ are also great coupon resources. Searchable too.

Hopefully the links are allowed and won't get censored.

Don't know why it's deal. Don't they do it every month?

Rarely buy anything specific from parking lot sales. You can usually get the same or better price with their coupon booklets and the best-price coupons are from their ad in magazines (like Motortrend, not sure if they still do it, those coupons might have lower price and longer expiration), not flyers.

The regular 20% coupon excludes the 3-day parking lot sales item which is kinda cheating because you'd better wait for the item on weekly sale (same price as parking lot sales) and you can then apply the 20% coupon on the sale price.

Many things, actually. The cheap $20 sazall has lasted me for a few years of renovations. Same with the circular saw and the hammer drill was great for getting tile up off the floor.

The Pittsburgh mechanical tools (drivers, wrenches, etc) are also awesome for the money.

Stocking up on the safety glasses in clear, amber and smoke. Can't beat 99 cents. Sunglasses are great to throw in cars, beach bags, tackle boxes, etc.

All the "Free with purchase" coupon stuff is a great value for what you pay. My lil girl has a moving blanket for picnics. I put down free tarps when I fix the car to protect the driveway and make sliding under easier. The work light actually works pretty decent.

Pittsburgh Pro ratchets are decent. I have a long handle, flex head 3/8 ratchet that made changing an out of the way oil filter much easier. And I like the extra torque from the longer handle. If you need a 1/4" ratchet, you can get the composite one for like $5 after coupon. The pro composites are much better built, but that little $5 guy has never let me down yet.

Impact sockets aren't too bad. I went with Klutch for a few more sizes, but most importantly the case fit my tool bag and HF didn't offer a case at all. But HF was on my short list.

Breaker bars and torque wrenches are good values. Also jack stands (but inspect carefully to make sure the latch actually works). The 3 ton low profile jack isn't bad.

The weed burner is an awesome blow torch.

Basically, if there's something from HF that you want check out Garage Journal for reviews by tool nerds. You'll find a lot of stuff is perfectly fine for occasional home owner and hobbyist use.

The only real deals at these sales happen on Sunday when they try to get rid of the oddball stuff. Like the wrench set that is missing 1 due to a warranty replacement or maybe somebody returns a generator they never used.
