FYI - Unusual for StraightTalk/Tracfone, but my J7 Crown has been receiving all the Android updates. It is currently running Android 9.0. I have never owned a prepaid from ST/TF that received an Android Version update. I do like this phone.

Moto G6 from TF is also getting updates & has Android 9. Got one for $79 with 60 days service (& minutes) on a limited Amazon deal. At 3ram, 32storage it's going to last longer than a 2/16 phone.

sure was a epic deal we got. I opted for the $35 TW plan just cus its my main phone now and I needed data but yea. now that its got 9 its a beast plays the mobile games I do play pretty butter smooth its impressive for the money. I love the motion controls where you can chop to turn the flashlight on or twist to turn the camera on.

Tracfone branded Android phones have never received software updates (only their branded iPhones). Whatever version of Android that's originally installed does not change. Tracfone, Total Wireless, Straight Talk, etc. all have phones with added software, they are not the same as other networks. Getting upgraded to newer software is something that just started with their latest phones.

I've had several Moto phones that had it, never used it either. Just shows we all use our phones differently.

How is a 2GB RAM phone worth more than $30 at this time?

And 16gb of storage is also a problem, especially on Samsung phones which include numerous apps that can't be uninstalled if you don't want to use them.

its pretty handy at night when I'm out walking to just shake it to turn the flashlight on versus having to unlock the phone and tapping flashlight up top. but I get not everyone uses their phones the same way

Bought the TW Moto G6 as back up to my iPhone 7 and now the iPhone sits in the glove box. The G6 is a outstanding mid tiered phone at a budget price. Excellent camera too.
