Got excited there until I saw that it was not Mark Millar's original Wolverine: Enemy of the State. Didn't realize they re-did that story line a mere 8 years later. Marvel, why?

It's a what if? It's a single issue posing different ways the story could have gone. It's quite common for Marvel to do what ifs at the end of significant runs. I think it came out a year or so after, probably just reprinted 8 years later.

Ah, gotcha. I heard they had brought back the What If line at some point, didn't realize the approach.
