What do you think compare with s5e 128gb I can get it almost same price as s4 64gb.
About the same. The S5E is newer so it will get one more year of software updates, but it doesn't have a headphone jack, and based on some reviews on Amazon, the model has some quality control issues (e.g. people exchanging their faulty S5E, etc)

S6 coming out August 23, a considerable upgrade from this

With a considerable price premium. I expect 400 to be the new "normal" price for the S4, but the S6 will be costing >650. The pricing is insane IMO. Android tablet for productivity? You can get a nice laptop for this price..

I tried both at bestbuy and feel like s5e is snappier and more pleasant to use. Only downside is no pen support.. shoud I wait s6?

Bought the Ipad Pro 11, 256GB for $625 in the morning. Shall I return that and get this instead?

Depends...Are you going to by writing your notes or typing with a keyboard?

Since you are stating getting the pen with in both instances, it sounds like you are going to be writing all your notes down. If that is the case, I would get the iPad. It is very fluid and great for note taking with the pen. If you are using a keyboard and then using the pen for highlighting and such, I think I would prefer Samsung due to being able to utilize Samsung Dex, which I think is pretty great.

Just depends overall how you plan on utilizing your tablet. If you already have an iPhone, I would go with the iPad that way you can have synchronization between your devices; aka you can answer texts, facetimes, etc. that would normally go to your phone on your iPad. Hope this helps!

Side note: Personally, I'm an android boy so I am waiting to see what comes out of the Tab S6. The S6 has the latest processor, upgraded camera, it weighs about 15% less, storage space starts at 128gb and 6gb of ram (can upgrade to 8gb), and in-display fingerprint reader. I guess the only downside of the S6 would be no headphone jack. But I have a usb-c to 3.5mm dongle and I have Samsung Buds, which are said to work the best with Samsung devices so I'm not worried.
True. I'm just on the fence because people have been saying the software/apps for iPads are a lot better.

However, the Tab S4 64GB (pen included) variant would be $349 + tax (b/c of the $50 BestBuy gift card) thus being cheaper than the Ipad 9.7 (6th gen) 128GB + pencil at $394.98 + tax....

So, I'm left to choose between the better software of iPad vs the better overall hardware for the Galaxy Tab S4 (AMOLED screen, quad speakers, etc...)

I currently don't have any tablets at the moment, but would like to get one for better note taking and eliminating the need for binders/paper. I do have an iPhone X, but I currently take typed notes on my Dell XPS 15 9570 and prefer hand written notes or maybe even a mixture of typed/handwritten.

TL;DR
Better hardware of the Galaxy Tab S4 vs better software of iPad - which one to choose at same price point?

Samsung S4 amoled screen is very nice, and it is very responsive I recommend getting the 256GB version if you can, esp. if you record photos/videos with it or download videos to watch offline. Been using Netflix's download feature to watch videos on the train, and has worked great.

I read Samsung S6 doesnt have a headhphone jack. That sucks. I use the headphone jack all the time on my S4. Did Samsung drink the Apple Koolaid?

No don't..... I have both but the iPad Pro very powerful smooth as butter and no issues. Have the same apps on both tablets and on the S4 my game apps stutter and jitter. You will probably not get another update ever. The android tablets don't have real tablet apps they still use phone apps. Do yourself a favor keep the Pro you will be very happy

With having an iPhone and preferring hand written/combo notes, I would go with the iPad in your situation. Apps and other software are better for the iPad in most cases, so I would just go for it in your case.

There are only two kinds of tablet on the earth: iPad & others. I know Apple is not good at pricing but the it is the truth. not worth spending $400 + plus on others

I think spending a $125 more on the ipad pro deal 256gb is a better choice imo. The a12x in terms of performance blows away the 835 and even the current 855 out the water. A12x even blows away apples own 12 processor used in iphones. Also factor in better app optimization with the 2x better performance. Samsung gets plus points for s pen and oled screen. But even with the screen i rather have 120hz with the 3p color accuracy. Samsung does have dex going for it as well, but with ipad os coming out in few weeks that is almost a wash as well. Tab s looks better for movies with its screen ratio. Also if you factor in future updates, history shows this might get one more year of updates while the ipad will at least get 4 more years. The a12x is well beyond future proof too as it is faster than most kaby lake i5s out there. But if you dont care about gaming and only want to web browse and watch movies, the tab s is not bad.

I trust my SD brothers and sisters not to be embarrassing enough to take photo/video with a tablet. shake head

It is a shame about the headphone jack. I use it occasionally and I hope they bring it back because how hard can it be to keep it. A few bucks at most!

No they didn't drink the kool-aid, they decided to step into the 21st century. With all the awesome bluetooth headphones who in the hell needs a headphone jack? Oh wait the same people that think they need a Bluray/DVD drive in their laptops all so ancient

Costco has the 128gb 5se with a 5gb sd card. Which is a better deal? Mostly for a teenager that will occasionally use it for homeschool. Costco is 419 I believe

There have been many reports of a wifi issue in the tab s5e possibly due to a design flaw. That made me prefer the tab s4 over the s5e.
