Because it is a limit of the IPS panel, and it is not meant as a gaming monitor. Image quality is more important than refresh rate for photo editing/video editing, and general business use.

Just ordered---Thank you OP! Exactly what I needed: USB-C, IPS, 2560x1440, lots of inputs, and height adjustable/pivot should be a great fit for an XPS and just in time for school.

FYI - the sale is until Thurs 8/22.

It is perfectly fine for gamers. Only buy TN panel if you are a starving college student and have more important priorities like your next meal.

As these are both the same price now, $299, what is the better purchase? The one I linked below, looks to add FreeSync/Adaptive Sync, but may have different USB port config, and no DO port. I just want the better quality image.
