Thanks OP. I'll be picking one of these up later today.

Question please: what would be the proper CHIPSET for this CPU? I need:
- one PCIe slot for gpu
- one for NVMe SSD (using m2 not PCIe adapter)
- one slot for my current sound card (I'm picky about audio, but don't have an outboard/external solution yet)
- I'm also looking to grab a board with WiFi for those rare times when Ethernet isn't an option.

Background: I'm slapping together a 60fps+ bang-for-the-buck 1920x1080p gaming rig. I'll add in 16GB of ram, NVMe SSD, and a either a GTX 1660 ti or rtx 2060 depending on when a nice a quiet card hits a good sale. Will mostly play stuff like Cyberpunk 2077, Control, maybe some Apex/PUBG, etc

If you grab this you will be able to do 2k. I have exact same thing (non F); 9th gen i5 is going to be hard to replace, similarly beefy to how the i5 6th gens were so reliable.

You could also get a 2600 for a similar price

I have this cpu paired with 24GB of ram and a 1070ti. I get 144+ fps @ 1080p on overwatch, pubg, Apex legends, and many more games. It's a great cpu for the price.

If you live near a Micro Center, they have this for $134.99 as well. Great price for this processor.

Never consider AMD and people Wonder why high end gpus cost so damn much because of you we can no longer find high to to tier gpus for 400 keep being a clown let's see if we can't get a high end GPU to hit 2k oh wait that's a Titan never mind.
See, actually, I did consider AMD and have a currently running non-gaming AMD system in my house. Also, 2 of my previous 4 gpus were AMD. But for this specific system and it's budget, I need it to be as low power-draw as possible while still cranking the single/double-threaded performance. AFAIK AMD isn't as competitive right now on the balance of performance per Watt, thermals, and price vs this specific CPU (if I'm wrong someone please correct me). Likewise, the gtx 1660 ti is a very efficient design for a (relatively) low cost. Else I'd be up on the higher cost parts that will double the budget and be mostly wasted at 1080p.

But rather than ask a single question, you're the a**clown who just jumps to conclusions and passes wholesale judgement like some mind reader who thinks he knows everyone else's rationale for certain decisions. Your user name is "AlwaysMature..?" You're pretty far from living up to your own standard or else are deliberately trolling. Since you're new here at Slickdeals, I'll bet it's the latter and you're a jackass on a burner account expecting a ban at some point.

And thank you to everyone else in the thread. Before pullling the trigger tonight, I'll go back and check out the 2700 and maybe even consider splurging for the 3600 non-x (which would eliminate the funds for an rtx 2060 upgrade). Just gotta see what today's paycheck looks like.
