Similar to G2A, they are a grey-market seller. They might be selling stolen keys but we don't know.

Every time I call this out, I get steamrolled by the "BUT I'VE NEVER HAD ANY PROBLEMS" brigade, and it's true, you probably won't have any problems. But the point is that you're still buying from a seller who was never actually authorized to sell the game, so we don't know where the keys actually came from (and whether the creators of the game will actually get any money from the sale). As long as you're OK with that stuff then purchase away.

Great price. Runs good on modest hardware. It runs well on my laptop with Intel 520 graphics. Gotta tweak the settings down quite a bit, but it still looks great and runs well.

No. It's a spiritual successor to Doom (original) and Doom 2. This is a gloriously, screaming-fast run-and-strafer in environments that promotes and rewards fast movement. Doom 3 was a real-turn-off and I never had the will to get very far on it. This Doom (2016) is what I was looking for, the thing that me and my cousins cut our teeth on when we were kids.

If you have a AMD GPU, you will want to run the Vulkan API. It is amazing.

Does this still require a full download/install of all the multiplayer stuff, or is there a selective install? Running a little low on space right now.

single player and multi player are not separated into different installs. There is only one download that contains both.

IIRC it's about 65 GB

Thanks for the reply. Might save it for a rainy day, then.

PC Gamer link didn't work as posted above, but I found reviews on Google.

Is there a bunch of DLC for this game we will have wished we bought/waited for a GOTY?

From what I could tell, this Doom 2016 is a remake of Doom 3 BFG which I already have and played a bit. For whatever reason I never liked Doom 3 BFG as it seems a bit too dark and its textures are not very good looking, plus it also give me a bit of motion sickness which rarely happens except on a few select games. I can play FPS like Battlefield games, Gears of War, Prey, etc. for hours with no impact, but certain ones like Doom cause me problems after a short time.

So am I right that Doom 16 is a Doom 3 BFG remake with better graphics, gameplay and different levels/maps in a similar style?

I don't want to buy it if it's basically Doom 3 BFG all over again which will give me motion sickness.
where did you see that this Doom is a remake of Doom 3? that's not true in any way at all... totally different game.
i could see the poor lighting in Doom 3 bother people and possibly some motion sickness... but Doom games, like Quake, are far faster and more zippy than any of those games you listed. it's a far quicker pace and could be the reason you had issues, although Doom 3 was by far the least quick of the series, they tried to make it more of a horror game than anything.

This is basically a reboot of the original Doom, but with a completely new story and mechanics that haven't been present in any of the previous Doom games.

I first played the multiplayer beta version, and wasn't impressed. The reviews weren't great either, but after I saw all these folks giving their accolades, I bought it, and the single player experience is definitely fun.
