Looks like they shipped with Lasership, not regular carrier... bad experience before, hope it works this time.
For Los Angeles, they use UPS Sure Post (UPS transfers to USPS, then USPS delivers it).

Nice, bought my gf a full-zip to match mine. Thanks! Too bad the men's in my size are sold out or I'd pick up another for myself.

These are super breathable and offer no wind or rain protection.

They are more stylish than functional in my opinion. Have a couple and they are nice for the cold office or a fall evening with friends, but I never take mine to the outdoors.

They also pile after a couple of washes.

Great for looks and brand name, not great for outdoors.
Well I must be misusing these because I take mine outdoors. I think they are too casual for work and don't particularly look nice for an evening out. I wear my gore tex wind and waterproof shell over mine for weather and this serves a light, thin, warm and breathable mid layer. Been in sub zero temps with wind propelled snow pelting at me on long lift rides to the summit and they kept me plenty warm.

They have a lifetime guarantee on their clothing, which is why they're so pricey. If anything rips or fails, they will repair the product

Which goretex shell do you recommend?

If there are any Patagonia stores near you, you can ask if they can ship you the size/color you want for free, same price. Or even try calling Patagonia customer service. These are last year's colors, and are 50% off at Patagonia stores.

I bought a navy XL from REI, brought it to Patagonia store for a size exchange for a medium, they shipped it to me for free, 2 day shipping.

I should have just went in store, because it's the same price, and they were able to ship it to me. Even if the store didn't have my size.

I have an Arc' Teryx Beta SL which is a light weight shell. I like the lighter weight because I can wear it in the summer for a rain jacket as well as in the coldest days for skiing. They do make heavier and lighter jackets but I did not want to shell out the coin for 2 jackets.

The Beta SL can be found for ~$200 on sale. Be aware of Arc' Teryx sizing though. A lot of their stuff only fits skinny dudes with 10 ft long arms. Also, many jackets have pockets located higher so they are above the climbing harness beltline. May not suit everyone.

Patagonia, Mammut, Arc' Teryx, Outdoor Research... all make great shells and they all seem to be similarly priced for the most part. Patagonia seems to be somewhat trendy at the moment but I've been buying their products since the 80s and have been very satisfied with them. LL Bean has some nice Gore Tex gear as well. Son has a shell and that thing's bulletproof.
