Yeah, that's what Alfred Russel Wallace used to call him. In return, Darwin called Wallace "Alfie".

That was a joke, by the way. Anyway, this might be a worth listening to while pipetting for 22 cents. Most biology PhDs havent read this yet.

LOL Okay you guys. I fixed it. Was trying to shorten the title. But it did look wrong.

They say the first step towards recovery is admitting you have a problem. But I'm a nerd & there is no cure. nod

Thanks OP!

I also notice a few other classics as audiobooks for 22¢ - Dante's Inferno, some Edgar Allen Poe, Lewis Carroll, etc.

It is interesting that Darwin wrote 2 chapters in the book, explaining that he could be wrong. Look for yourself.

If you prefer free or just don't have two dimes to rub together, librivox offers two English versions for free. Whether it is worth it or not depends on how good the narrators are (or aren't). Hit & miss.
The Origin of Species by Means of Natural Selection (version 1) [librivox.org]
The Origin of Species by Means of Natural Selection (version 2) [librivox.org]
Also, there are a ton of classics or even non-classics prior to about 1940 or so available for free on the site.
The Voyage of the Beagle by Charles Darwin [librivox.org]
Even more Darwin... [librivox.org]
Dante [librivox.org]
Edgar Allen Poe [librivox.org]
Lewis Carroll [librivox.org]
You can always donate your 22 cents to Librivox as a charity that hosts a significant collection of free audio books to own.

Silly Me - I downloaded. This narrator is just plain horrible. Monotonic, difficult to understand, poor cadence - I deleted after listening for 2 minutes... it was painful. I should have listened to the sample. Live and learn.

Yeah, but he ended up being right, as confirmed over the last century and a half with far more advanced techniques in molecular biology, etc.

Sorry I didn't listen first. But I've never regretted getting these cheapo audiobooks before this. Found & posted a ebook & audiobook from Amazon to hopefully make up for it. Roll Eyes (Sarcastic)
