Was at the local Home Depot and noticed they have the

DWHT60920 6 pc. Vinyl Grip Screwdriver Set [dewalt.com] on clearance for $10.03 (photo attached).

Homedepot.com does not have a past or current listing for these. Honestly, having problems finding much on this 6-piece set.

I believe the reason for the clearance is because DeWalt is discontinuing USA made Industrial screwdrivers. These probably follow suit.

DeWalt releases USA-Made [toolguyd.com]

DeWalt discontinues USA-Made [toolguyd.com]

In addition, select markets have a 11% rebate to compete with Menards.
https://www.homedepotrebates11percent.com/#/home which can make this even a little slicker.

Good Luck

Saw these two days ago in Clearance areas but they were still labeled $29.97. I'll check again today and scan them for pricing.

That looks like a good deal. This is my favorite screwdriver handle style that is common on Klein screwdrivers.

One thing to point out is that these are "Made in USA with Global Components". That means one of three things:
  • The handle was made in china and the shaft was made in the USA. They were pressed together in the USA.
  • The handle was made in the USA and the shaft was made in China. They were pressed together in the USA.
  • Both the handle and shaft were made in China. They were simply pressed together in the USA.
Being made in China is not inherently a bad thing from a quality standpoint.(Also, could be a country other than China.) The DeWalt website allows you to zoom in quite close on the tips of the screwdrivers. Those tips don't look like any USA made screwdriver that I have ever seen and there are not many people making screwdrivers in the USA. It would bet money that the the business tip of this screwdriver was made overseas.

Still, this is probably a very good deal. StanleyBlack&Decker know how to build good stuff and how to make junk. They usually try to keep the DeWalt line full of good quality.

These look exactly like my Kleins, minus the "DeWalt" maybe rebadged?

It sure looks like they are. It's quite possible they contracted out to Klein to make them. If not they definitely have Klein envy.

Have seen these for months on "clearance" at $30 at some local stores. I can tell you they are not moving at $30. Look like good tools, though, very possibly from same factory as Klein.
At $10 a ridiculous good deal.

I'd like to be able to buy a set that had three x #2 Philips and three x 1/4" flat. 90% of what I do uses one of these two. The odd sizes just gather dust in the drawer.

The handles look very similar but the shafts are different. The Dewalt flat blade shaft is made from round stock and a place to use a wrench and the Klein is square stock. Also, the Dewalt Phillips tip looks like it is welded into a hollow shaft and the Kleins are all one piece.
Maybe SB&D had Klein make the hard resin part of the handle for Dewalt in the US and the rest is "Global".
Ace Hardware had a Stanley set for $3 awhile back, those Dewalt Phillips tips look just like them. And those $3 Stanley sets are just as bad as the free ones at Harbor Freight.

These are slightly modified Stanley, not Klein.
