$5.88 at HomeDepot + tax and free instore pickup. MSRP is $19.99 and seems to be going for around $17-$18 at other sites.

Are these USB A ports about to go obsolete? I'm worried that within a few years everything's going to be USB C ports.
There will always be USB A -> USB C cords available as there is USB A -> to almost anything USB now including C I own 3. This is one whale of a deal. Wish I needed one. I am bursting at the seams with tech here. I would go for this one, you won't be sorry.
Great catch OP!

In for 2, thx OP. Small surge protectors like this are great for travel in airports and hotel rooms where the outlets are worn and phone chargers just fall out of the plug. The 3rd prong helps a lot and moving the weight off the plug makes it a non issue.

I saw these in the store and read the material that comes with them. Home Depot calls them surge protectors, but the inside documentation (and Wal-Mart) refers to them as extension cords. There are no claims or specs for surge protection, if that matters to anyone.

Been this price at my HD for months ... picked up 4 like 3 weeks ago.

Nothing on "instructions" say it's a surge protector, only says "3-Outlet + USB Charging cord"

Usually surge protectors have a Joule rating.

Also there's no built in 15A breaker, like some do.

how is 400 joules compared to other surge protectors?

is there a light?
how to tell if surge protection is still there?

I ordered 2 for pick up. It showed 27 in stock at my store at the time of the order. They called me 30 minutes later to cancel because it was out of stock. I can't believe they sold all 27 in 30 minutes!

Would this be at the Bellevue, WA store by any chance?
Probably just a coincidence but that's how much is in stock there and would be good to set expectations lol.
I'd bet the runner getting the stock can't find it. They have things like this littered near the entrance/exit areas or on the side somewhere.
