$5.88 at HomeDepot + tax and free instore pickup. MSRP is $19.99 and seems to be going for around $17-$18 at other sites.

is it better than walmart 8 outlet?
This would be better for travel. Not sure about that one you provide no link. It might charge better. Like this one from Amazon cost more but has USB C and four fast charging USB A ports.

Found it. Yes it is better. Two 2.4 A fast charging on both. 8 outlets. Larger but better.

For travel the other would be smaller and easier to pack. Overnight it would still charge your phone. Though I would just take my fast charger and an extension cord if needed, like on a cruise ship.

2.4amp total means you can really only charge one phone at the time

a) 5V 3A isn't even enough to fast charge an iPhone at 18W

b) not exactly low profile plug to reach behind furniture

There are others as well. That was the only point. They are now making them. They will make more and more till that is the norm. How it always works with something new.

I agree with you. I would want more amps. One that would also charge a notebook, at least one that is not going to require a lot to charge.

Really. The vast majority of extension cords do that. This works well. Think you can plug in a large power adapter on the back and still use the other two. This is why they do that and besides it is cheaper to make them that way.
Ok ...that makes sense. But then you'd have to lay it sideway on the floor which should work too

Never order anything from home depot online. Absolute joke. Took half a month to get my order. Than when I went to pick it up they couldn't find it.

I'm not sure why people are so impressed with this deal.

It's surge protection is extremely low. It slow charges your USB devices and it has outlets on both sides meaning you can't lay it flat and get to all the outlets and has zero reviews on the HD site (plus you'll need to drive there to get (maybe). Personally I wouldn't trust plugging anything valuable into this.

I'd rather use something like this (on the go) and/or sitting next to my beside.

  • It has more USB ports with better charging: 4 USB outlets (2.1A per port) and can QC up to 2.4A for each port
  • It can be plugged directly into a wall
  • Has triple the surge protection (1200 joules)
  • LED lights to confirm grounded and protected
  • Two year warranty
  • FS to your door (if you have prime) and gets tons of love on Amazon

All this for $6 more than the OPs product.

Only thing that is missing is overload protection.

It says right in the description 400 joules rating.
I don't care if it says 400,000 in the description, I have one right in front of me ... nothing on the "instructions" that came with it about any kind of joule rating or says it has any kind of surge protection. It just says "Charging Cord". I even looked on the back of the outlets ... nothing about any surge protection.

Go ahead and plug your $700 TV into this $6 cord ... when your TV dies after a surge, don't complain to me.

Are these USB A ports about to go obsolete? I'm worried that within a few years everything's going to be USB C ports.
I mean its $6. Even if usb a goes away in a few years youll have more then gotten $6 of use out of them plus the 3 outlets on it will not be going away in our lifetime if ever.
