Wouldn't someone on a tight budget be better off with a 2200g? It's only about $20 difference for a newer model with blt/in graphics. Don't understand who would buy a 1200 at this point,

The two CPUs have roughly the same performance. If you plan on using a graphics card, why pay >50% more for a feature that is of no use?

The AMD G CPUs are 1 generation behind the non-video CPUs. So the 2200g is a 14nm like the 1000 series Ryzen CPUs.

The 2200G is $60 at microcenter for those that live near one and offers a great bang for the buck. But the 1200 listed here for $53 is also a great bang for the buck for those not neat a MC.
Get a cheap B450, or more expensive X570, board and have a good upgrade

The 1200 series also uses solder solder for the heat speaker vs the 2200g which uses thermal grease. No difference for everyday users but the 1200 will handle over clocking a bit better. If you're gaming on a budget and plan to use a dedicated video card, it's an overall better choice.

This is a first ryzen chip and they're up to the 3rd Gen now. It's kind of tough to say, but it's been compared to the i3 7100 a lot. This is a true 4 core chip with 4 threads while that Intel was a 2 core chip with 4 threads.

The Intel was faster in single core speed, but the ryzen better in multicore.

The other advantage of this chip is that it is overclockable.

This chip would pare well with a $60 range b450 motherboard.

wow farking cheap bastards, just save and pay a little more for a better chip series like the 3000x. Like WTF? How farking cheap do you want to be on a CPU?
There are plenty of reasons to cheap out on a system. If you're going to hate on this, I hate to see the gasket you blow when you discover Raspberry Pi's.

I mean, why are you such a cheap bastard buying an AMD 3000 series? Grow a pair and buy an I9.

I already have a 8700k jackass and the 3000 series is comparable or even better. Have you even read the reviews?

Dude that went a mile over your head. Don't be so sensitive. The point was that it's idiotic to hate on somebody wanting to buy a budget CPU when you don't know what they intend to use it for. There is always something better if you're willing to pay for it.

Since your definitely care, I have one PC using an AMD Ryzen CPU and another using Intel. I don't care about brands, I care about performance and value.
