Looks like a good deal for an SSD with 5 year warranty.

https://www.microcenter.com/produ...-s-25-quot

Specs from intel site.

https://www.intel.com/content/www...s-3d2.html

Some of the specs on the the microcenter website looks incorrect. Endurance is 144TBW (vs 72 on microcenter specs) and read speed is 550MBps.

With 5 year warranty and $1 more than their inland drive, this looks like a good deal to speed up an old laptop.

"In Store Only" in the title would be nice so I don't waste my time, instead of "Free Store Pickup" SD mods...

Thanks! I've never heard of that place. Are they legitimate? It doesn't look like they accept PayPal. I'd rather stay away from Seagate. They also have WD and Toshiba. I usually get WD 4TB new, used or refurbished for less than $60 and new 8TB for between $120 and $130.

Refurbished HDD's is like buying refurbished condoms. Great idea, don't do it (unless in a RAID array).

Condom RAID array is a different message board.

Wish these were in stock near me. Considering picking up 6 and doing a raid config at a low price.

Well, I bought one refurbed by WD and one used in-box off eBay. All the rest have been new. Oddly, I've had 4 3.5" externals die and one 2.5" external. All were new. The 2.5" one dies less than two months after the warranty expired. I put the 3.5" ones off to the side and didn't touch them for years. When I turned them on again, 2 WD's were dead and 2 specialy company for externals were dead. I don't know who's HDD is in their enclosures.

I was able to reserve one for store pickup, hopefully they will keep it for me. I was actually looking to get a 500 GB Crucial MX500 but I'm going to give this a try, see what the whole noise about Intel's SSD is. I can do with 256 GB since this will be the boot disk in a Desktop where I have a 500 GB HDD for storage.

Just connect both and use cloning software.

the 500G version of this drive was like 50 dollar earlier this year, you could have picked a few then.
I'll give you a suggestion instead of ragging on you. Perhaps suggest that they should know there is this price history in case it happens again (aka options). Your info was good, delivery not so much.
