Looks like a good deal for an SSD with 5 year warranty.

https://www.microcenter.com/produ...-s-25-quot

Specs from intel site.

https://www.intel.com/content/www...s-3d2.html

Some of the specs on the the microcenter website looks incorrect. Endurance is 144TBW (vs 72 on microcenter specs) and read speed is 550MBps.

With 5 year warranty and $1 more than their inland drive, this looks like a good deal to speed up an old laptop.

How did you get a ~$10 discount?

Would like to know as well, and want to use it on this SSD.

How does this compare to the Samsung evo SSD? Looking to replace the HDD in my 12' MacBook Pro.
There isn't any recent 12" MacBook Pro. You meant 12" MacBook? Those do not use SATA drives nor have physical room for it.

Non of the modern MacBooks or macs uses SATA.

Older MacBooks like older than 2011 ish had SATA. So if you have one of the macs with SATA drive and know how to access and replace it, this drive will fit.

I have a 2010 MacBook Pro and I have replaced it's SATA with SSD long time ago. It still functions until today.

Why? A 256G thumb drive, comes with enclosure for same price as this drive without the enclosure. If for family pics, you do not need SSD speed. Grab a 2TB external for $30 (256Gx8).
more on this 2TB external for $30, please.

I'm sorry to hear of the failures of these. I want one or two but they're OOS near me. I bought two of the 512GB model around Christmas time. I gave one as a gift and kept one for myself. The one I know of is working well. At the time, all I read of it said it was similar to the very good Samsung SSD similar to it.

Would you rather not have known about price history? Then what is the point of sites like camelcamelcamel?
Yeah. Time machines are dumb. If we don't know price history how can we know if the present price is a deal or not.

Micro Center claims they regularly sell this fo $109.99. What a bold faced LIE!
Right. A bold claim. (But "bald" faced is preferred.)
