ONN Surge Protector, 8 outlets, 2 USB ports, 6' cord - YMMV - $6.88

Found these in store at Wal-Mart. Rang up $19.99 and Walmart price matched their website at $6.88. Walmart app wasn't showing them in stock at my local stores but there were 6 of them on hand. YMMV

Update: Many saying this was originally lower price. My store rang it up off the barcode. As stated, if you can find another surge protector with 8 outlets and 2 2.4A ports, that beats this price, by all means, post it for all. Thanks.

Update: 8/18. Still up. Still plenty on Brickseek and available to order online as well. Someone posted OOS. May be at their local store only. These appear to be identical in every way to the 2700 Joule model. I got one of those and they price matched the 500 Joule that is on sale here at the register. YMMV

Update 8/19: Many of the 2700J appear to be gone. BS and Walmart inventory is not tracking this one well. I still have some 2700J in my loca store. Regular price is now $6.88 on the 500J. That features a "grounded" and "protected" features. When hooked to a proper 3 prong outlet, it says grounded. The protected light works to show that it is still absorbing spikes and surges. If that light goes out, all you have is a power strip left. But at least you get a warning.

Only 500 joules? I'd hate to see the passthrough voltage rating on these things...

That was maybe the 2700 joule version with the same form factor for $20?

At 500j, these are power strips, not really surge protectors.

This shows as regular price on the website. Even Brickseek shows the MSRP at $8.88 far from the $19.99 posted by OP. What's slick ab this deal? Am I missing something?

As others have mentioned, 500 Joules rating effectively makes this a power strip. I wouldn't use this to protect expensive equipment. The AmazonBasics surge protector with the green light is said to have been made by APC (I don't recall where I read this), and those are rated for about 4500 Joules. The 8 plug is currently $15: https://www.amazon.com/AmazonBasics-8-Outlet-Surge-Protector-6-Foot/dp/B07GFRKSXD/ref=lp_761520_1_12... [amazon.com]

I just purchased one of the Amazon ones myself to plug in my 65" TV, sound system, and other accessories.

At 500J I wouldn't use this for anything major (ie computers and TVs).

Err... MSRP says $8.88. Not a horrible price, but not a lot of power and quite bulky.

They are not always very accurate about the MSRP. Seems unlikely that is the normal price to me.

If you keep scrolling on the WM site listing, it even has a women's sizing chart. This thing can do it all.
