I dont think it was the 8gb model was it?

This was 509 at Rakuten, so this isn't an amazing deal but it's not a bad one.

i dunno about the cover, but didn't Fry's have these for about $350 and many were able to price match at Best Buy last month? I'm interested, but for me sweet spot would be $400 including type cover and no tax.
Frys didn't *really* have these for about $350. In fact, NO ONE was buying one of these for $350 from Fry's They were advertising it for $350 but if you tried to order it they would call you and tell you that they only had one in stock and it was a floor model with accessories missing. The only part of this that was a deal was that some Best Buy's would price match that price. My two local Best Buys would not, nor would they do it through the online request (tried 5 different times). So that was never a Fry's deal at all, and it was only a deal for some at Best Buy.

It was $350 for just the tablet, the type cover was $80. $430 plus tax was a great deal but hard to get (no frys anywhere near me had them) and I didn't consider trying to PM at best buy, which probably would not have worked for me.

Im curious, how does this compare to the surface pro 4 running an m3. I passed on the rakuten deal from a few months ago I mentioned but this is really tempting given the size (does this qualify for free office?)

I has this version and it ran surprisingly well. I ended up returning because the battery life was terrible. Especially when I was comparing it to my Chromebook pro. Wish they would release a second gen as other than the battery life, it was a little cool computer.

Extremely good deal; I purchased the 4GB / 128GB w/ Type Cover for $480 about 5-6 weeks ago.

I understand the portability aspect of this thing is its biggest advantage but this price seems over the top. I know I would buy this and be thoroughly disappointed with the performance vs. one of the I5/I7 laptops that are available between 450-700 right now.
