Google Play Credit: $2 Off $2+ for an Android App, Game, or In-App Item. Targeted Offer via Email (YMMV)

The title of the email said "Here's a $2 credit with your name on it" The email had a button to claim the credit.

Figured I'd give people a heads up to see if others got it too. Sometimes offers can be overlooked in emails.

*Valid for a $2 credit against any one app, game, or in-app item with an on store price greater than $2 at the time the purchase is made on Google Play. Open to participants who receive a promotional code from Google. Not reloadable; no cash value. Offer ends within 30 days of receiving this email offer and must be added to a Google Payments account within 30 days. Once added, credit must be used on Google Play within 30 days of receiving this email offer. Certain subscriptions excluded. Valid in United States only. Limit 1 per user.

A few days ago my google credit went from ~$45 down to $7. No purchases showing up on any service, no emails saying I spent anything, no record of anything. I do the Google Surveys about twice a week, so any promotional credit shouldn't have expired (and, if it did, it should be going away $0.15 at a time). Emailed support, they said they'd escalate it to an expert. Been over a week now with no response from anything. Can't even find a phone number to call.

When I go to payment methods within the play store app, it shows "expiring: $$$ promotion, deduction on 08/22/2019". Do you see something similar?

Just checked and here's what it says:

Google play balance: $8.32
Expiring: $8.32 promotion
Deduction on 6/19/2020

I wonder if I hit some date that made $40 worth expire? Still have no idea why they would choose that huge chunk to go away when I earn it a dime at a time and probably buy an app every other month.

Thanks for helping me find that, didn't show the expiring/deduction thing anywhere on the website.

It looks like this in the Notifications tab of the Google Play Store app sidebar: https://imgur.com/a/7ykphOL

Clicked link, saw this:

"$2 credit toward an app or game over $2
Valid for a $2 credit against any one app, game, or in-app item with an on store price greater than $2 at the time the purchase is made on Google Play."

I got the Wolfram-Alpha for $2.99. Was charged that plus tax ($3.24). Checked my bank app and, yes, no discount.

What am I missing here?

The part where it says YMMV (Your mileage may vary)
Means you didnt qualify for the $2 credit.

The part where it says at the Google Play link (with me signed in)
""$2 credit toward an app or game over $2
Valid for a $2 credit against any one app, game, or in-app item with an on store price greater than $2 at the time the purchase is made on Google Play."
means you didn't read my question well.
