Costco has it for the same price, and the 2+2 warranty may be better for some people.

Pros vs Samsung Q9:
  • Price (less than half)
  • Same # of local dimming zones for half the price
  • Significantly better contrast (with and without local dimming)
  • Significantly better SDR / HDR brightness
  • Supports DolbyVision
Cons vs Samsung Q9:
  • No FreeSync or VRR (Variable Refresh Rate)
  • Viewing angles are comparably worse
  • Stands are further apart requiring a bigger surface.
  • Audio is crap but who buys such a sick TV and uses the integrated speakers?
Common weakness of Q9 and PQX:
  • No HDMI 2.1 = No 4K @ 120Hz with 4:4:4
  • OLED viewing angles makes these two TVs look like CRT from the sides.

I am assuming you mean Samsung Q90..not Q9

You might want to list on the issues of the Vizio versus the Samsung Q90

Better upscaling /picture processing capability on the Samsung
Better panel uniformity on the Samsung ...banding etc
Better dimming algorithm on the Samsung
I think you can find a better price than $2800 on the 65" Q90

Anyone buying a high end TV like this should consider the new TCL 8-series or 6-series at the end of September.

Why are these better than straight up OLED panels? Like the LG ones

The new TCL 8 series 4K tv will be a 60 Hz panel. This will be a deal breaker for a lot of people. Now the TCL 8 series 8K coming out first quarter of 2020 will be a 120 Hz panel with HDMI 2.1. Now that is a different story but will likely come at a much premium price. If you ask me, a $2000 (65 inch) and $2999 (75 inch) flagship tv with a 60Hz panel is a slap on the face. Hell, even the 6 series has a 120Hz panel. It's like throwing a pass to a receiver and he fumbles at the 5 yard line right before the end zone. Not sure what was TCL thinking. Of course if 60Hz panel is not an issue to you, than the TCL 8 series is worth the waiting.

The only people who care about 120hz are: 1. people who don't even know what it means but think they need it because of marketing... or 2. PC gamers with fairly powerful computers.

And only the 2nd one can even utilize 120hz.. if the TV even can run at 120hz. most TVs that call themselves '120hz' are just 60hz TVs that add a soap opera effect to 24hz or 30hz tv shows and movies.. there are virtually no tv shows or movies that are 60hz never mind 120hz. (well.. to be fair, sports, news, and soap operas are often in 60hz)

Near endless number of double blind testing by major consumer product labs - no visible differences between 60 and 120hz TV's.

I don't know if this source is credible but this article says this TV will be dropping to $1,300 soon.

I personally don't care and I am ok with 60Hz. I just don't understand being a flagship tv why not 120Hz to future proof content?

Because they're a budget tv maker and it would raise the price.
