For this price, OLED still decimates it. Even the B8 is incredibly better.

I'm sure some will disagree but that's fine.

No tax is the only upside if you want to save the extra $100.
It surely doesnt "decimate" it nor is it incredibly better.

Leds have come a long way and q90 is king of leds. in some situations the q90 is slightly better than oled like bright living rooms if you watch a lot of tv during the day time.

This needs to drop below $1500 to be truly competitive to the LG OLED C8.

A bright room is the only "pro".

Other than that, blooming and black performance is garbage compared to OLED. If people like their black bars in movies to be bright , then by LCD.
Coming from someone who has both technologies in their home
A high end LED is not garbage in any way

As a matter of fact for HDR viewing and sports watching...I think its a better technology

I doubt many are considering buying one of those two ..or at the very least knowing what they will give up with one versus the other and trying to understand their priorities

When i bought my c6 in 2016 i felt the same way. Oleds have barely improved since my 2016 one. But leds have come a long way and have surpassed oled in some ways and oleds arent for everyone

Whether you know it or not you sound like a real fan boy and lose credibility when you speak with so much hyperbole

I actually sold my A9F because I started seeing some signifiant retention in various areas.. it was getting worse rapidly.

Bought this one after seeing it in a friends house. OLED looks great IF you can dodge retention / burn in issues and you sit in a almost completely dark living space.

I am in a very bright living room and don't want to deal with retention. The only downside for this Q90R vs my A9F is I don't get eArc but I'll live.

Oled looks better IMO but I don't want burn in like I have with a plasma I still own. I don't want to hear that burn in is not a real thing. Every oled I've seen on display ends up with it.

Gaming? News shows? Sports? What do you think was causing it in your case. TV on 14 hours a day? Kids use it? Just curious since you must have had it less than a year.

Mixed usage, actually. Did some gaming, Netflix etc. I had a B7A before this one and it started doing the same to me. I am not on these TVs for more than 4 hours a day.

There is a app on my appletv which has a bright icon. First thing to start showing retention (although it was only for a few moments) but like I said, it was actually getting worse. Would just rather not deal with it if there are compatible TVs out there that don't have that risk.
