Why are there so many Amazon Warehouse listings for this product? Makes me worried if people are returning them en masse and Amazon is relisting them used.

For those whose shredders are dying so quickly, do you regularly oil it? I've had an Amazon Basics strip shredder (not cross cut) since 2013 and it's still going strong. I fill it up about 2 times a month.

All these shredders break quickly. I haven't bought one since I had my medical practice and paid close to $1000 for an "industrial size" one. Even then it broke after a few months. Now, I just let it accumulates and take it to free shred day my community has 3x a year.
Thank You for the tip. I'll check and see if my community has one of those. I literately broke the shredder within a couple hours of use. My last one broke a simple cheap small plastic cog, and I could not find a replacement for it.

I was in the market for a shredder about 2 weeks ago. After being scared off by all the reviews, I went and bought a cheap Walmart cross cut shredder and paid $2 for the extended protection. WHEN it breaks, I'm covered.

Good deal ..very good price..Over the past few years i have brought several different shredders, every single one broke after few months, i never abused any of these machines knowing their limitations..I had this for about three months, it broke after several uses, amazon replaced the first one then second one broke right after...then I finally decided to use the shredder at my work, i spoke to my boss n admin both said we are okay to use ..so every month I collect all my stuff take it work n im done.

I purchased my shredder at Staples about 9 years ago and its still going strong. Now I only use it to shred bills and other items with PI on it. Model SPL-TXC10A is built like a tank and I paid $79 or $89 for it. I did find one on Ebay that is for sale https://www.ebay.com/p/Staples-Spl-txc10a-CC-Shredder-Complete-Crosscut-Mill-Grinder-ASSY/4012112930... [ebay.com] Sadly, this one is no longer made.

A good one is like 300 - this is probably not worth it
