If the OS if currently on it's own SSD and the 1tb HDD is replaced with an SSD is there any reason to reinstall the OS?
Not required as that is just a storage drive. You can 1TB 2.5" SSD around 80 to 90 bucks

Not entirely correct. The Ryzen 3500U has an advantage in the integrated VEGA Graphics compared to UHD 620 in Intel. It can be over 50% to 60% faster than UHD 620 which enables playing some older games or even some newer games with low to mid settings.

I wonder how much better the Intel CPU, and in particular the 620 graphics performs, when having two memory modules (dual mode rather than single)? Probably depends on the application, but in general I wonder how noticeable by the user. Some laptops have that second mem slot, where the owner can add a second memory module, while others do not.

Not sure why you're downvoted. Vega 8 is twice as fast as 620uhd.

Both aren't great for gaming but if you are happy with 720p low then get the ryzen. The 620uhd is complete garbage at games.

Processing wise, Intel wins by a slim margin. Gaming wise, AMD wins by a large margin.

Report that to moderators as they made that mistake while editing my post to make it FP.
