If you have some reputable local furniture stores, most them will have exact same designs or very similar ones as Ashley's, but done by other OEM (some times better), normally at half of the price.

58% for me on my bedroom set. That's all the furniture is worth. Negotiating isn't hard. Just have to be upfront, honest and realize you hold the cards. I walked in at the end of the weekend, told my local location's head manager I basically knew wholesale cost and wanted a very deep deal. That is where we settled.
So you paid 58% of the retail price or you got a 58% discount? Also, is the markup the same across the board or are some things more marked up than others?

The Porter bedroom set that I have is actually really nice. I sold the bed but still have the dressr/mirror and nightstand. I did have a brown corduroy sectional that was Signature by Ashley that was like $900 and it didn't hold up well at all. Some Ashley stuff is better than others. This is a case where you get what you pay for.

Had the worst experience with Ashley furniture. Bought a Love seat and Sofa during Memorial Day. After missing so many promised delivery dates, they cancelled the order after a month. Credit hold on my credit card was never reversed for another 2 months. Finally they reversed it after so many store visits , phone calls, emails and BBB Complaints. And also beware of some franchise Ashley store!!! Literally no customer support .

Any recommendations or thoughts on this 12" memory foam mattress over the zinus at the comparable price?

58% off across the board. It's doable. 50-55% should be the goal. Of course, I was negotiating down a $4k "retail" (haha) sale, not a $125 desk. There are also lots of third party sellers online where you can search for much better pricing to use to negotiate. I wanted to buy direct so they did delivery haulaway and setup which was worth a lot having a four story condo. Carrying a massive bed up without marking the walls is not easy.

It's holding up well but it's still cheap furniture. Their finishes are pretty weak and you have to be very careful with scratching and protection. For what I paid, I'm happy. It's not bottom of the barrel and a decent deal at that discount.

I've actually found that Costco has really good furniture when it's stocked. I despise Ashley and R2GO.

They make horrible furniture. It looks nice, but the quality lacks.
This.
Our nightstands lasted 11mo before the finish peeled. We bought the 5yr warranty, tech came out for 30seconds and said it needs to be replaced. Now that I have replaced that piece, the extended warranty is now dead for that piece. Load of shit. No help from any store manager or customer service....just ghosted us.

We had nothing but problems with Ashley in the past. Ordered spare bedroom furniture and it took forever to arrive, that is what parts did. They cancelled another part of the order a month later that they said was coming now claiming it was no longer made.. We went on Amazon and were able to buy the same nightstands from Ashley through Amazon they claimed were no longer made and told us good luck finding them! Never will go through them again as it was a 3 month process for a spare room set...
Worst furniture buying experience we have ever had. After months of not getting the furniture that you pay up front for we had to physically go to the store and demand a refund which took forever. I have never been so mad and had to yell at several people on the phone during the course of the weeks of arguing just to get our money back. Never again.

Same experience for buying Ashly. Their furniture are worst, and their customer service is nightmare! Never buy again.

I've had Ashley furniture, among others, for 9 years now. My leather sofa set and dining table set have seen 2 moves, and daily usage plus puppy teething. I expected furniture to last me 5 years but they are still going strong, and look great and no creaks/cracks whatsoever!

In contrast, my 'designer' sofa from Kasala is flaking heavily after 4 years and the seat cushions are starting to get tired.
