Does Costco price match at all?
Micro Center is 30 dollars less and right around the corner from my Costco.

You're better off installing it yourself

With these specs you think it can handle 4k edits with premiere pro? Or beef up ram and double it to be sure. Anyone know?

Yes, within 30days. Within 90days you can do a return/rebuy. My local Costco doesn't even require the item. They'll look up my membership and scan an available item tag.

1. Yes and no. 8GB is cheap on Apple's part, but 8GB goes a longer way on MacOS than windows.
2. Agreed. It does suck. They should have gone to full SSD like their laptops.
3. I think that's a limitation on Netflix's part. Not sure but it is frustrating.

$1500 is not a ripoff though. How much would a 5K monitor cost you? The LG 27" 5K is like over a grand

He's talking about the storage, not RAM. Opening an iMac to swap storage is not for the faint of heart. Adding RAM on the other hand, super easy (as long as we're talking 27" iMac).

Adding external SSD and booting from external SSD is super easy as well.

Is that thanks to the thunderbolt port? I'd think the throughput could be a bit of a bottleneck (obviously better than the HDD of course)

The USB C/Thunderbolt port can do 10Gbps, a typical SSD is at 6Gbps. The bottleneck is no longer at the interface/port connection. And the cable is really reasonable price too: https://www.amazon.com/StarTech-c...way&sr=8-3
