Own a ryzen 3 2200g. Never happier. Intergraded graphic is good enough on all tasks i throw at it. Just allow ur budget for high speed ram though

About $10 cheaper than Microcenter, but no mb bundle deal on either of these CPU's sooo..

I am torn on a budget build. The 2200G is at MC for just $60, but no bundling deals.. IDK I need to figure the MB first..

Any guesses on if this will be cheaper on BF? Building a SFF machine for my parents as a Christmas gift and have no immediate need for it.

legit curios what "tasks" you are referring to, as even intel hd graphics (both modern and a few gens back) are capable of most everyday tasks

Hi All.
I haven't built a computer in about 5 years. No gaming, just browsing, financial stuff. How does it compare to an AMD Ryzen 5 2600X 3.6GHz 6 Core AM4 Boxed Processor with Wraith Spire Cooler for the same price? Also, any recommendations for a motherboard and memory?
Thanks for any input.

2600x will need a graphic card. This one doesnt require it. For basic tasks, 3400g will handle everything. 16GB and not the cheapest am4 motherboard, b350, x470,... Whatever has video output and suit your needs is the way to go.

Dual channel ram (a pair) is a must.. and I think at least 3000 speed.. I'm upgrading from a r3 2200g with 3000 oc to 3100.. (the faster the ram the better)

RYZEN 5 3400G Review & Test - No Graphics Card Needed - The New Budget King!
https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=_F3bz-NV2g0

He has other videos with integrated AMD GPU's one is in tiny case with a Pico PSU 150watt.
Super small PC 3200G should work for 3400g as well.
https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=cZFpjWcSpoQ

Power draw for CPU is around 120 watts.
Well this beats Microcenter for once also because... they give no motherboard discount on the Integrated AMD Gpu cpus.

I heard 3400g is not Zen 3 like 3600 but just a refresh of Zen 2. Is that true?

Yep, its basically Zen+ (2000 series non-APU equivalent...2600, 2700, etc.)

I'm not sure why they chose the naming or intentionally are keeping APUs a gen behind.

Similar single core, inferior multi core performance (due to four vs six cores). Here are the CPU performance numbers from Geekbench for the two CPUs.
